Halloween Door Medallion

It's been a crazy, crafty week here as I get ready for the craft show at Sandi's place. Only one week left!

Here's something new I've been working on. It's a 6 inch wide door medallion (I don't know what else to call it!), or you could hang it on your wall, or door knob. I've strung it on a lengthy piece of black satin ribbon, so there's enough for however you choose to hang it. The little Halloween cat has been glittered with black glitter & the doily was misted with tea colored ink. I really had a hard time figuring out what to put behind the cat, because I felt like he needed some sort of charger (speaking table-setting talk here) or embellishment behind him. I'm still not entirely sure if the doily really works. I'm also working on two other versions, with a spooky Halloween tree and a witch. Both of them are glittered in black too.

Here are some other things I still need to complete for the craft show:
1. Make some black tissue poms
2. Complete a few more Halloween pinwheel garlands
3. Make more Halloween paper garlands - spiderweb kraft & Halloween paper
4. Other kraft garlands - pennants, scallops & flags
5. Make up some more DIY kraft garland kits
6. Punch & pack up gummed scallops & envelope seals
7. (maybe make) Halloween bat mobile

I hope lots of people show up to this thing! Would be great if it can be a monthly gig.

Lost things

I am in love with this video & song by A Fine Frenzy! It's so magical, I want to live in her world!

Tomorrow I will be featured on my new friend, Lindsay's blog! I'm so excited! There will be a giveaway, so if you're lucky, post a message there on her blog and see if you win one of my garlands!

New Halloween Garlands

Here are some Halloween garlands/banners I've been working on this week. They're very time consuming, but so worth it! I love how they look. I've been trying to decide if I should put them in my shop or keep them for the open house my friend Sandi is hosting at her house on the 22nd. I might do both. I just have to make more! I'm also working on two others, "Hocus Pocus" and "Beware". I think these would look great on a door to greet your trick or treaters!

Update: I just listed the Boo! banner here. :)
& the Spooky banner is here. :)

'The Valerie' lip butter pack

My friend, the über talented Sandi Solis named a four pack of her delicious lip butters after me, 'The Valerie'! I feel so famous! :) Buy your own pack here.

Friday Flickr Find

I've always loved bokeh in a photo, it conjures up something so magical. What is bokeh, you ask? It's actually a "mistake" when the camera lens blurs the light into soft circles.
I think it's a lovely mistake.

............I see s c a r l e t bokeh

Photographers can even change the bokeh into any shape they want. I think this one is so lovely (find it here on Etsy)

And, if you've noticed, my background here on blogger is bokeh too! :)
